In recognition of the contributions of Prof. Frederick D. Rossini to the work of the IUPAC Commission on Thermodynamics and Thermochemistry during his 39-year membership (1934-1973), the Commission decided, in 1973, to institute a “Rossini Lecture”, to be given during the IUPAC International Conferences on Chemical Thermodynamics (ICCT), (now IACT/IUPAC ICCT). The first lecture was given by Prof. Rossini himself at the Fourth Conference held in August 1975 in Montpellier, France. Rossini lecturers were appointed by the Commission on Thermodynamics until 2002, and are now elected by the Board of Directors of the International Association of Chemical Thermodynamics (IACT). The text of these lectures is published in Pure and Applied Chemistry and, with IUPAC permission, in the Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics .
| 1 | DATE : Provide the date the nomination is sent to the IACT Secretary (Rob Chirico, email address: chirico@boulder.nist.gov). |
4 | SUPPORT OF QUALIFICATIONS (400 words) : State specific ways in which the nominee meets the requirements for the honor. The Support of Qualifications should be a narrative summary that supports the Statement of Qualifications.
