Membership and Meetings

IACT membership is open to everyone who has an interest in thermodynamics, subject to Article II Membership of the Constitution. Members are entitled to receive announcements of meetings, and reports of the business meeting of IACT at the Biennial Conference, and to vote for the Board of Directors.

Membership is established by registering for the Biennial Conference. The membership period runs from the end of the normal registration period for one Biennial Conference to the corresponding time for the following Biennial Conference.

IACT Business Meetings are held biennially, during the IACT/IUPAC International Conference of Chemical Thermodynamics (ICCT). The purpose of the meetings is to review reports on current projects, arrangements for future ICCTs, and the financial accounts, as well as to elect Directors to the Board and to discuss proposals for new projects.

Election of Directors

The next election will take place at the business meeting of the IACT, to be held in Búzios, Brazil in 2012 during the International Conference of Chemical Thermodynamics (ICCT).

The election is held by secret ballot. Members who are unable to attend the conference are able to cast their votes by email to the Secretary, with a copy to the Chair, at the latest two weeks before the conference.
